HWRacing’s main supporter is the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University. Based in Edinburgh, HWU is world renowned for its teaching and research. It is the leading university in Scotland, such that it has earned, for two consecutive years, the Times Scottish University of the Year.

Founded in 1854, The Alumni Watt Club is the oldest alumni association in the UK. The Annual Fund was founded to enhance campus life in all its aspects for students. It delivers vital funding to research and project groups much like ourselves. This year the fund has donated a significant sum of money to HWRacing.

Geoghegans Chartered Accountants

Geoghegans are an accountancy firm based in central Edinburgh. Since 1918, they have offered a wide range of financial expertise to many high-end customers and they have kindly offered financial support to HWRacing.


Finesco are a financial advisory firm based in Glasgow and specialise in dealing with the finances of high end customers from all over the UK. When the team were in need of support, Finesco were ready in waiting to help the team and contributed to the vital essentials needed for the team to complete the competition at Silverstone.

East Ayrshire Car Club

East Ayrshire Car Club  is one of Scotland’s top motorsport clubs, owning and managing Kames Motorsport Complex, on the outskirts of Muirkirk in East Ayrshire.

Kames Motorsport Complex includes:

  • a 800m sprint track, which can be run in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions,
  • a network of sealed rally roads,
  • a large sealed paddock which is also used for autotesting.

HWRacing enjoyed the use of the track and facilities for testing before 2016’s competition. The vast amount of testing and reliability of HWR-06 wouldn’t otherwise of been possible.

Sharkey Group

Sharkey Construction Group specialise in delivering excellence in all aspects of interior construction across a wide spectrum of sectors and businesses.

Mr Scott Sharkey kindly offered the team financial support in time for FSUK 2016 and we hope that they continue to support and follow the team this year.

Fibreglass Works

Fibreglass Works is the largest general moulder of GRP products in Scotland and have the ability to serve worldwide.

They do all their work on site, from the original CAD design service  through to custom paint finishes.

A new sponsor for HWRacing as of June 2015, 12 Volt Planet are an online supplier of low voltage electrical components and accessories for the auto, marine and leisure after-markets. Back on the HWR-02, Westgarage Engineering supplied HWRacing with the car’s differential, and due to the reliability of the component, the team still uses the same differential to this date. Westgarage also provide vital technical support wherever a queiry arises.

JetCut Ltd

JetCut Ltd provide HWRacing with brake discs for the car, water jet-cutting 6mm discs that will be machined down to 4mm thickness for our car.

JetCut Ltd is a Water Jet Cutting business based in Hillington, Glasgow which offers a precision cutting service. WaterJet Cutting is an extremely versitle technology which can cut all metals, platic, rubber, foam, glass, stone, marble, ceramic and porcelain tiles etc. Their equipment can cut material measuring 4m x 2m, from depths of 1mm to 150mm and to a tolerance of 0.2mm. JetCut Ltd is established to handle mass production of components or one off designs and have a client base which includes precision engineers and fabricators, construction companies, architects, artists, packaging specialists etc.


Camcoat Performance Coatings, sole European Agent for Tech Line Coatings Inc. for over 20 years, have acquired tremendous experience in polymer coatings. The Sick Kids Friends Foundation

In 2012/13, the HWRacing team made a huge commitment to helping the local community. As a part of this, Edinburgh based The Sick Kids Friends Foundation became the team’s primary charity partner during preparations for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Team Relay. To date a total of £870 has been raised for this vital cause.
